The intention of the study was to compare the strategies employed by the children with their Danish vocabulary (or rather, word comprehension potential, see Jørgensen, 1987). I collected my material in the schools of a working class suburb of Copenhagen. The students were all of Turkish origin, and they were born in Turkey of Kurdish or Turkish parents.
